Social Impact Lab

FERVOR was asked by United Way of Calgary and Area and the Social Impact Lab to delve into their messaging. It was clear that how they had been positioning this joint venture wasn’t clear to the social sector, donors and general public. And as they intended to take the concept of the SIL out across Alberta, it was necessary to find that clarity.

FERVOR set about interviewing a dozen or so stakeholders and asked questions only an outsider could ask. Tough questions that got really honest answers. What was developed was a story about how the Social Impact Lab came to be, why United Way was devoting resources to it and what its ultimate purpose was. We wrote a good deal of really honest, bold stuff. For example, you’ll see three “we” statements on the main page that came right out of our work that serve as openers for deeper conversations. The image below is a typical passage we wrote to communicate purpose, intention and impact.

FERVOR was proud to learn about those in community who are trying to disrupt and change dysfunctional systems.
